Members of this year's YLA class then reviewed grant applications from Madison County non profit agencies, learning about the many ways our local non profits serve the children and youth of our community. Besides learning about the needs of the agencies, they also experienced the reality of not having enough money to fund all the requests - a valuable life lesson.
Thank you to all the individuals and businesses who helped support Dance Marathon 2017 with donations and many volunteer hours.
After months of planning and fundraising, all their hard work paid off and grants were awarded to the following non profit agencies in Madison County:
Alexandria Community Center
Alternatives, Inc.
Gateway Association, Inc.
Hopewell Center
Operation Love
Second Harvest Food Bank
St.Vincent Camp Hope
The Salvation Army
